This Privacy Policy explains what information Redcam Camera (“the app”, “we”, “us”) processes, why we process it, and the choices you have. We built Redcam Camera so your photos and live motion clips stay on your device unless you choose to share them. We do not operate user accounts or cloud photo storage.

1. Summary

  • Photos and live clips are captured and processed on your device and saved to your system gallery.
  • We do not upload your camera roll or media files to our servers.
  • The free version may show ads through Google AdMob. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
  • We use Firebase Analytics for limited app-usage events (e.g. paywall and subscription funnel). Analytics does not include your photos or video content.
  • Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your payment card details.

2. Information we process

Photos, videos & live motion clips
Media you capture is processed locally (filters, frames, grain, light leaks, polaroid export, live-loop rendering) and written to Android MediaStore:

  • Still photos: Pictures/Redcam Camera
  • Live motion clips: Movies/Redcam Camera

We do not transmit your captures to our own backend.

App settings & preferences
Settings such as sound, haptics, timer, resolution, selected filter, frame style, caption text, gallery sort order, and premium status are stored locally on your device using Android shared preferences.

Subscription & purchase data
When you buy or restore Redcam Camera Premium, Google Play processes payment and provides us with purchase tokens and entitlement status so we can unlock premium features. We do not collect or store your full payment credentials.

Advertising data (free users)
If you use the free version and consent where required, Google AdMob and its partners may receive:

  • Advertising ID (AAID) on supported devices
  • Device type, OS version, language, and app interaction signals
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • Ad impression and click data

Ad delivery is managed through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) where applicable (EEA, UK, and other regions).

Analytics data
Firebase Analytics may collect standard app events such as paywall views, plan selection, checkout start, subscription purchase (plan type and value), and purchase restore results. These events do not include photo, video, audio, or gallery file content.

Remote configuration
The app may fetch a remote JSON configuration file to control ad placement and related settings. This request does not include your photos, videos, or personal gallery content.

3. Permissions

  • Camera — required to take photos and record live motion clips.
  • Microphone — used only when you record live motion with ambient sound.
  • Photos / videos / media access — used to save, read, edit, share, and delete items in the Redcam Camera gallery folders.
  • Internet — required for ads, consent forms, remote ad configuration, Firebase Analytics, Google Play Billing, and in-app review prompts.
  • Advertising ID — declared for ad measurement on Android 13+ where ads are shown.
  • Billing — required to purchase and restore Premium subscriptions through Google Play.

You can revoke permissions in Android system settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.

4. How we use information

  • Apply filters, frames, effects, and export formats to your captures on-device.
  • Display your gallery, enable editing, sharing, batch actions, and deletion.
  • Process live motion clips (record, grade, freeze, loop) locally.
  • Verify Premium subscription status and unlock paid features.
  • Show ads to free users and measure ad performance (with consent where required).
  • Understand subscription funnel performance to improve the app experience.
  • Comply with applicable laws and platform policies.

5. Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your photos or live clips.

When you tap Share, Android’s share sheet sends files only to the apps you select.

Third-party services that may process data include:

  • Google Play Services / Google Play Billing — subscriptions and purchase validation
  • Google AdMob & UMP — advertising and consent management
  • Google Firebase Analytics — limited usage analytics

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. You can review Google’s policies at policies.google.com/privacy.

In-app: Settings → Privacy options (when available in your region) lets you update ad consent choices.

6. Retention & security

  • Your media remains on your device until you delete it from the gallery or uninstall the app.
  • Local app settings are removed when you clear app data or uninstall.
  • Purchase records are retained by Google Play according to Google’s policies.
  • Analytics and ad partners retain data according to their own retention schedules.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We avoid collecting data we do not need for the app to function.

7. Children’s privacy

Redcam Camera is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app or ads, contact us via the Google Play listing and we will work to address it.

8. Your choices

  • Deny or revoke camera, microphone, or media permissions in Android settings.
  • Use Settings → Privacy options to update ad consent (UMP regions).
  • Upgrade to Premium to remove advertisements.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
  • Reset your advertising ID in Android settings (may affect ad personalization).
  • Uninstall the app to remove local preferences.

9. International users

Redcam Camera is distributed globally through Google Play. Third-party providers such as Google may process data on servers located outside your country. Where required by law (including GDPR/UK GDPR), ad consent is collected through UMP before personalized ads are shown.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be reflected in-app.
